Watercoloring On Die Cut Pieces

Hello my crafty and artsy friends.  Today I am sharing another card for The Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring Challenge.  I made this card using just watercoloring on die cut pieces on layered backgrounds.

The birds and the houses on the card were coloured using Daniel Smith watercolour.   The orange background were done using Distress inks.  I die cut the birds and the bird houses on Arches watercolour paper first.  After running the sandwich through the die cutting machine, I taped the negative on a wooden board and put back all the die cut pieces to the negative for watercoloring.   I am sure someone probably has done this already but this was my first time and it was actually very fun and easy to do.  At least I  don't have to worry about colouring outside the line ;p

That is it, very simple.  To achieve the deep and bold colours, just keep layering!

Spring HUGS!

Hello my crafty and artsy friends, spring is official here!  To celebrate it, I made a card with a lot of spring colours!

The die cute pieces of the word HUGS were coloured using distress inks and the blending too.  The birds were coloured with Zig.  The background was watercoloured using Daniel Smith watercolours.  That is it, very simple but colourful and fun to create!

For My Colourful Friend

Hello my crafty and artsy friends.   I have been busy with things about my daughter and haven't been posting at all these past few weeks.  My sincere apology for that!

Today I am back with a beautiful owl card.  These adorable owls stamp images from My Favorite Things are very fun to colour.  In fact, they were coloured for the awesomest The Daily Marker 30 Days Challenge by Kathy.  This the first time I joined the challenge and I a blast with it.  It helped to keep me on track and boosted my productivity as well as creativity.  I own Kathy a million thanks!   The coloured owls was posted on my Instagram a few days ago.  Yesterday, I was finally able to make a card using two of the owls I coloured.

The lovely owls were first stamped with Versamark and then embossed with gold embossing powder.  After heat set the embossing powder, I watercolored them on Arches watercolour paper using the Grumbacher Transparent Watercolour 24 set. This is one of my fab watercolour thanks to Danielle Donaldson.  The background was done using a stencil from Simon Says Stamps and the ink pads from Altenew and a stencil brush.  The sentiment was stamped using Versafine Black.

That is it very simple to make.  I have listed the products I used for this project below.  Thank you for stopping and have a wonderfully creative day :)
