A Thank You Gift Card!

Hello my crafty friends.  This week I am sharing a card I made for Simon Says Stamp's "Gift It" challenge!  It was fun to make card with a gift card in mind.  My daughter used to collect gift cards that have beautiful and fun designs.  We haven't been paying attention to gift cards as much since she quitted this habit few years ago.  Thanks to the challenge I actually have fun browsing and picking up beautiful gift cards this past few days ;p

The design of this card was very simple since I found a perfect gift card to be the focal point of my card.  The leaf background was made using stamps and distress inks.  I stamped the solid leave images first with Mustard Seed.  Then added the shades to the leaves with Dried Marigold using a light and uneven inking of the distress ink on the solid stamp images.   To finish off the leaves, I stamped the outline image with Festive Berries.  To complete the background, I used the blending tool and applied layers of Old Paper, Peeled Paint and a little bit of Peacock Feathers all over the white space and the stamped leave images on the card panel.

The gift card was attached to the card using Ek Success Dotto Repositionable adhesive.  I love this repositionable adhesive cause it is stronger then other brands and at the same time it can be removed cleanly and easily.  I also added the gold dots on the black card stock to tie the gold on the gift card to the card base.
